Hydrogen (H2) is produced in the intestinal lumen by bacteriological breakdown of carbohydrates and its detection helps clinicians to understand digestive problems. It is also important to measure carbon dioxide concentration (CO2) in the breath to determine whether the breath samples for analysis are alveolar, otherwise results can be underestimated as the breath samples that are being analyzed may be contaminated (either with room air or bronchial dead space air).

Lacotest 202 Control (H2+ CO2) is an evolving solution. You can add methane (CH4) in order to have a full detection. This solution allows you to upgrade your system in line with your budget :

  • Detection of Hydrogen- H2. Electrochemical sensor with thermal compensation (long lifetime: 3 years).

The Lactotest systems are open and evolutive solution. The USB communication allows you to interface the equipments to a PC software for database integration, export of results to the Hospital Informatics System (XML, HL7, etc..) or simply print  directly your results in MS Word allowing you to have a perfect integration of results (H2 + CH4 + CO2)  in the patient file.
